Hastings Point Duplex

Schafer Design have prepared designs for the demolition of an old dwelling and the construction of a two level duplex at Hastings Point.

The site is in close proximity to the beach and backs onto Cudgen Creek

The eastern unit comprises three large bedrooms, two with ensuites, generous living areas and a double garage. The occupants will enjoy a large private courtyard to they east.

The western unit is slightly smaller and comprises two large bedrooms, sitting room, generous living areas and a single lock up garage. This unit enjoys views to the west over Cudgen Creek.

It is anticipated that Development Approval will be gained by the end of March

Kingscliff Renovation

The Development Application for a major renovation to a  1970's two storey brick veneer house in Kingscliff is ready for lodgement with Tweed Shire Council.

For what was quite usual for the day, the original home failed to address the solar aspect or take in extensive views across Cudgen Creek and the ocean.

The Original Home

The renovation on this house sees a major change to the room layout as well as removal of the existing roof and much of the upper floor. The new design has a mix of masonry and lightweight cladding with Scyon linea board and matrix panels providing a change in texture from the rendered brickwork. The design opens up the living areas to the expansive views and allows penetration of winter sun.

It is anticipated that construction would commence early December

The Renovated Home

Bark Avenue

The Development Application has been prepared and is ready for lodgement for  Boarding Kennels south east of Melbourne.

The kennels will house approximately 90 dogs and 40 cats and comprises luxury kennels for small and large dogs,  detached cabins for dogs, communal areas for small and geriatric dogs as well as numerous exercise yards and play areas.

The development will also include a number of energy saving features to minimise the impact on the environment and minimise the day to day running costs.

Olga Street Renovation Nears Completion

The scaffolding has been removed and the new second storey has enveloped the old single level dwelling.

The owner wanted to retain the original internal areas of the original dwelling but extend up with a contemporary look.  To achieve this end we constructed an external post and beam structure that would support the upper levels without imposing additional loads on the original structure. Sanctuary 28 were also successful in removing the original roof while still retaining the original ceiling linings.
